Type hair styles in the Yahoo search engine and look for pictures. You will find lots ! Print it out and take it to the salon with you.
There are also hair style magazines on the newstands but they aren't cheap.

hairboutique.com lets you find pics of hair styles based upon length, color, etc., and has soon good hair articles.
You can't go wrong with a messy bun.

go to a salon and talk with a stylists about what you would like and what would look good on your face shape and they have books you can look at
