Yes, I downloaded it a year ago, it is good esp for free. I was happy with it. I notice though that some people on Answers had a problem sending email after they downloaded it. Search for questions relating to this if you have that problem, a few people posted how to resolve this issue.

I use it myself. Its ones of the top rated FREE anti-virus programs out there. People like myself like it because it doesn't slow down your computer like other programs do. Its a very small and simple virus protection software. If you're thinking of using it you SHOULD. Its a good alternative to Norton and the other ones you have to actually pay for that do the same work as the free AVG .

I use it. It is not the best for scanning as far as finding malware on your computer. It does have an excellent record for catching it before it gets installed and it will scan your POP Email, also. There several free antiviruses available. They all have something unique. Just remember the best antimalware tool is using what is between your ears to surf smart. No antimalware program can keep you from clicking on a bad link, opening a link in email or IM's and downloading risky stuff like screen savers. Using p2p programs or visiting porn sites is a big NO NO, too. Other than the occassional exploit of a program or OS that is not updated, most malware requires some action by the user. You can protect yourself from "drivebys" by using Firefox Browser with NoScript extension.

I have heard of AVG anti virus free program. I have used it and it is worth every cent (heh, heh). I am serious though, it works well and you are able to update it for new viruses and I would recommend it highly...In fact Kim Komando, the computer guru, radio talk show hostess, recommends it highly and it can be downloaded from her site (for free also) at http://www.komando.com. She has a lot of freebies at her site and she checks all of them completely for usefulness and for spam elements, etc. Hope this helps!!!

Norton is like George Bush's intelligence minus the amount of viruses in Windows.
AVG is Ok, I prefer Avast!

I suggest it to all the college students I deal with on a daily basis and it keeps our network clean.

I have heard of it and have used it, the thing to remember that you get what you pay for. I work for Best Buy and our Geek Squad recommends Trend Micros product along with Spy Sweeper from Webroot.
