I am sure this question has been asked atleast a dozen times, but here goes...I will be moving to Los Angeles in the next 6 months and need some ideas on safe affordable places to live. I will be graduating law school in Boston this May and will be pursuing my dream of working for a film production company. Knowing how difficult those jobs are to get I am well aware that I will have to work my way up. This means I will not be making a very high salary for a few years. Any suggestions on neighborhoods?

Try to find someting on the westside if at all possible-but others are right...if you're looking for real cheap you need to go farther out to Long Beach, Hawthorn(ick) or maybe farther north to Calabasas, etc.
