I live in New York, going on a cruise to the Carribean leaving out of Port Canaveral, Florida. People have asked for me to bring back some liquor. I know that liquor bought on an island or on ship will be held by the cruise ship until we return to Florida. However, my concern is how to get it back to New York via plane.

1) What is the best way to protect the bottles in my check-in luggage?

2) I have a wheeled duffel-bag type of bag. Would this be sufficient to protect the bottles (I do not think so as it is soft material throughout), or should I buy a "traditional" suitcase that has a definite shape?

What I usually do when I pack liquor is put each bottle in a sock, preferable a sweat sock that is thick. That keeps the glass from hitting anything and cracking. Then roll each socked bottle in a "T" shirt or some other clothing that will provide further padding. Then put the bottles in the middle of the bag so that they will not bump at the top, bottom or any sides. Most places that you buy liquor from will probably put it in a box if you buy more than one bottle. If that's the case, use the sock and then pack the box in the middle of the bag.

Yeah with the new regulations on travel and liquid bans, you cannot carry on the alcohol coming home. However... if you have room in your suitcase.. pack some bubble wrap... that woudl work the best. Wrap the bottle in a tshirt or two and then wrap it in bubble wrap..also it would be ideal to put it in the center of your suitcase so it doesnt get crushed.. you wouldnt want to get home and have all your close smelling like mexican tequila... so make sure to do that. youcould get one of those traditional suitcases that dont bend, but you should be ok if you wrap it carefully!! good luck!!

dude you're extra ideal off purely mailing the bottle via kit mark it particularly fragile. it won't paintings via doing that via hiding it on your baggage! airlines could test your baggage. keep in mind that they gained't enable drinks on the airplanes?! Sheesh you're doing a sturdy job on attempting to get arrested in case you probably did no longer pay any interest to the information! purely mail the bottle via fed-exhibit that'd be swifter.
