A prelude consists of musical selections played before your wedding ceremony begins. It is often used to provide listening pleasure while your guests are being seated before your ceremony starts. The processional is the entrance of your wedding party (when the wedding party walks down the aisle. After the ceremony has concluded and the bride and groom are pronounced the recessional begins. The recessional is the departure of your wedding party (when the wedding party exits). The processional and recessional are often accompanied by musical selections as well.

The processional is walking down the isle in the beginning, the recessional is going out of the building after the ceremony, and the prelude I would guess is right before the ceremony starts.

Hope this helps.

A processional is played when the bride (and presumably the maid of honour/bridesmaids) are coming down the aisle. A recessional is played when the bride/groom/bridal parting are going OUT of the church/synagogue/whatever at the end of the wedding ceremony. A prelude is played BEFORE the service begins...BEFORE the processional.

Processional And Recessional

The processional is the wedding party marching in, the recessional is the wedding party marching out. I'm not sure what the prelude typically is, but whatever it is it comes before the wedding (that's what prelude means).
