i need a subject for a position paper i have to write. i can not think of anything that has not been beaten to death by my classmates. i cant think of any thing that is even slightly interesting

Skim your local newspaper, esp. the letters to the editor, but also the local news. There's probably some issue that's important but not necessarily on the minds of your classmates. In my community, some questions would be:
-- should the work of state agencies be outsourced or privatized?
-- should property taxes be eliminated in favor of higher sales and/or income taxes?
-- should our local cities and towns be merged into a county-wide government?
-- is having a half-way house for convicted sex offenders a good thing for the community or a bad thing?

1) whether christ should be in the pledge/government in general
2) abortion has been pretty beat to death, but mabye a new spin on it? mabye. like whether it should be legal when the mother is in danger of dying?
3)even though racism has been outlawed and abolished, are people still afriad to say anything negative about a black person? or mabye how black people sometimes use that to their advantage?
4) you know roe vs. wayde? research about that. find you view.
5) iraq
6) about those shots that are now mandatory in some states, protecting children as young as 12 for sexually transmitted diseases. should the state really make that decision for the parents of is that overstepping boundaries??
