sorry to say the good programs that change MP3 to ringtones are not free. They do allow you to use them for only having a short ringtone. The program my friend uses is MP3 to Ringtones.

You can make your own ring tones. Have software that will convert mp3 files to .wav or .wmf files. Then you will need a special data cord and software for your telephone that will upload your ringtones to your phone.
