That is the claim made by trident gum. Is this also true for other brands?

Yes. I agree with Dr. Katie. Additionally, chewing gum increases the salivary flow which in turn helps to cleanse the mouth and reduce the bacteria in the mouth that can cause decay. However, chewing gum with sugar kinda defeats the purpose. Sugar free gum is the way to go. But you should still brush 2-3 times a day and see your dental hygienist/dentist every 6 months.

Dont believe everything companies say.

I know for a fact that Extra is the best chewing gum in the world, this stuff does actually help reduce cavities etc......but without regular brushing i wouldnt just rely on gum

No. Eat a red delicious apple daily. The skin removes plaque and helps to reduce cavities.

Most definately! theres no sugar to rot your teeth, and chewing gum stimulates saliva/irrigation. And saliva flowing through your teeth fights off cavities.
