so, i messed my back up at work. 2 guys lifting a 500 lb steel beam. i'm in construction but im not a big guy. i weigh 155 lbs soaking wet. my back is shot. it happened on friday and im gonna have to miss work tomorrow (monday). hydrocodone makes me feel restless. i cant sleep on the damn stuff whereas oxcodone works much better for me. the problem is that i dont have a gp. im just trying to get a same day appointment anywhere i can get one tomorrow. so, im a new patient, 22 years old, tattoos and a messy beard. i have trouble getting pain pills after dental surgery sometimes. i think it is because of my physical appearance and the outragous drug laws. i need something for pain. i've been taking 600-800 mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day as well as 500 mg of acetaminophen 3 times a day and im still hurting pretty bad. how do i get a doctor to write a perscription for a first time patient?

Doctors LOVE to write prescriptions. Thats all theyre here to do. Thats all they learn about in medical school. How to keep the drug companies happy and wealthy. I bet if you just asked him, he'd write it out with no questions asked.

Simple As Can Be... Tell the doctor you drink 2-3 times a week and that the right side of your stomach hurts near the top of it when you do... this means your liver is not processing the APAP which is the 500 of the ?/500 numerics on the label of any vic script the thing is the liver doesn't tolerate more then 3,000mg per day of APAP which is tylenol and is the filler or whatever they ad so people don't get opiate addictions or overabuse the pain killers... the oxycodone has no APAP... so the quickest way to move a script from HyrdroCODONE (vicodin) to OxyCODONE is simply to come up with a reason for the doctor to no longer give you the cheap tylenol ridden Vicodin in the first place... liver hurts - breakthrough pain that's high level and you can't deal with - and then a quick once more when you get it to try to get Dilauded or OPANA then a call to say it's actually working but you may need a few more... should do the trick... If you are as you say just looking to turn hydrocodone in for oxycodone I really don't see where you will have a problem. They are just about the same as far as pain relief. One works better for some than the other. If you are talking about oxycontin then you are going to have a tough time and most likely will not get it. As for one of the answers above Fentanyl is a very strong pain med but is not 100 times stronger than morphine. It is also not tolerated well by many people. Apparantly there are docs out there just dumping large amounts of pain meds on people still. No one should be on that amount of meds and some day will see that. Pain needs to be treated yes, but not over treated.

Be very honest with your doctor and tell him exactly how you are feeling. A pain management center is a wonderful idea but you usually need a referral from a general practitioner to go to one. Try to get established with a doctor so you have someone who knows your history. Best wishes.

Dentists are bad about writing prescriptions, but u have to speak up and tell them.
Go to your Doc and tell him the pain and he will give u what u want. Tell him what works--speak up.
Get u some ice bottles and put them on the pain for 20 min or until the pain is gone.
Wear magnets (flat ones) on the pain if u go to work.
Sometimes, 2 tylenols and 2 aspirins work well.
Use oil on back...olive oil, or babyoil
Good Luck
(fill an empty pepsi bottle with water and freeze) put on back.

In medical college they had to take notes somewhat speedy. transforming into a doctor isn't that straightforward now, the value of their writing messep up their handwriting and that they do no longer care approximately it after transforming into a doctor.

Your going to have a hard time because of your looks. I would very simply tell the doctor of reaction your having from the vicodin but be prepared he/she might give you darvocet or ulram. If you get one of those you call the doctor office and tell them it's not working. Remember, your a paying client and should get the same care as everyone else

Tell him exactly what you told us. The Dr. can tell how much pain you are in and can right you the correct prescription. If you want to be treated immediately go to the emergency room. They have no qualms about writing scripts if you need it.

Go to a pain clinic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will give it to you if you are opoid tolorent, i.e. already taking high doses of vicodin. I have severe scolois and take Lortab 10/500, Soma, Xanex, Ambeium CR.12.5 plus they will give me the Fentanyl patches which are 100 times stronger than morphine

Most doctors if they believe that you are actually in pain will prescribe what they believe is best, however you could have mentioned that what he prescribed did not work for you before.
