Shouldn't he be choosing this himself? If he's 19, I'm sure he's able to make simple decisions like the length of his hair by himself.
Of course my opinion would be he should grow it long, but it's up to him really.

Let him decide. If he is 19 he is old enough to make up his mind about his hair. I think society focuses too much on apperance and not the person. As long as he keeps it neat and clean who cares?

short hair. it's very diversable. everyone likes short hair and it's easy to maintain. being 19 you dont have time to spend worrying to much about your hair so, short is the best.

it depends, just so it isn't so long that he is tripping over his own hair. but shouldn't a 19 yr old be old enough to decide for himself??????

Let him have his hair how he wants it. Shorter is easier to look after and better looking. Just try to get him to keep it clean. I would discourage my teenagers from having dreadlocks. YUK! Good luck.
