I am afraid you are right both had an opprotunity to fight in Vietnam-both went to great lengths to avoid combat.

Not technically for Cheney, he was declared physically unfit for service. Bush Jr did serve in the National Guard as a jet pilot and just flying a jet fighter is proportionatelly more dangerous than being a soldier on the ground.
