This questions summons both a definition and a description.
And I am not sure I can fill that bill of questioning.

This is likened to a coin, with two sides -- but with an exception... in that worldly wisdom is not quite the apt response or oppposite to Godly wisdom.

Here's why: Godly wisdom Is -- and is expressed through those who have attained it uniquely in accordance with the uniqueness of the individual whose merit has conferred such a wisdom upon themselves in addition to Grace. Of itself Godly wisdom is one thing expressed differently by different individuals but nonetheless the selfsame thing.

Wordly wisdom is of itself wavering, changing. It is like the numerators of equations, which of themselves do not have quite the grounding that the denominator affords nor is there a necessary pursuit to resolve to this.

Wordly wisdom is not a classic thing: it is subject to the slips, shifts, and woofs of place and time -- which light, revelations and productions may be exceptionally good today but found wanting or terribly retro or outdated in another 10 years.

Godly wisdom is founded elsewhere, expressing in a medium that sets well above space, time, energy, and matter.

Wordly wisdom is all Mind. 'While Godly wisdom is what both it and wordly wisdom have in common. Godly wisdom has tamed well and modulated the folly of Mind, and may and can affect to be wordly.

'While wordly wisdom can never be...or feign to be godly.

Godly wisdom is never limited to the conditions of the world but worldly wisdom is in fact conditioned by Godly wisdom.

The godly is the experimenter with, while the worldly is the experimented on.

In general, worldly wisdom does not take into account any supernatural hope or eternal consequences. Worldly wisdom is the type of wisdom that looks at the immediate material benefits that a decision results in. It doesn't consider whether or not a decision honors God and it doesn't submit to what the Bible has to say about a situation when human intelligence contradicts what the Bible says.

A typical example might be someone who needs a job taking a good paying job doing something like working in the office of a company in the pornography industry because they need money to pay bills instead of trusting that God will meet their needs and that their life will have much better results if they turn down the job and wait on the Lord.

From a worldly stand point it makes sense to take the job because you have a guaranteed pay check. From a Godly stand point it makes more sense to trust God and to work in a business that honors Him because you believe that He will supernaturally open a door of financial blessing and that you will be working for an eternal reward as well.

To me the wisdom of the world implies a paradox. Spiritual wisdom... something that should not work by natures laws, but actually works.

For example. The more you give away, the more you recieve? It is a paradox. If you give it away, how can you have more? But, it is a spiritual truth that God is a constantly replenishing source. No matter how much or what you give away, he refills it. This just doesn't make sense to worldly people. They want to save their money (etc) for a rainy day. They are afraid to give away their last meal, dollar, life vest, etc. A spiritual person gives it away and is replenished.

Whoever tries to save their life shall lose it.
Love is the answer to evil.
Those who come last shall be first.
To get into heaven you must first be as a child.

I know those aren't exact quotes, but you get the idea. At least that is my thought.

I understood Martin's answer better than the others. Perhaps that is just me.

I think wisdom is a rendering of knowledge using a central theme.

So worldly wisdom uses the theme of material rewards. Material rewards start with sense gratification, then money, material comforts, artificial amenities, expensive clothing, and perhaps even pretending to be god. Perhaps you get the idea of what material rewards are. In the case of "Worldy wisdom" theism might be seen as fanciful and only to be tolerated if absolutely necessary.

The central theme of "Godly Wisdom" is God or the Supreme Being.

According to "Godly wisdom" everything and anything is interpreted according to that path to enlightenment in God consciousness. And that ultimate state of enlightenment is love of God, the Supreme Being.

God knows every atom, every cell, every entity anywhere and everywhere. God knows what is best way for human beings individually and collectively, regarding how they might associate with or utilize every atom and every being in existence. We can get very scientific about this, but God's ultimate policy is true love or pure love. We need to learn how to love by learning more about God and offering thoughtful prayers to God.

Worldly wisdom is that which makes you savy in surviving in today's hectic world. Godly wisdom makes you look beyond this world and seek that which lasts forever.

1Co 2:6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
