When I first started running, a homeless guy would offer me a drink at 6am after cheering me on. I never accepted the drink.

Today, I ray hills. The day was gray and overcast, the park was brown and dull green. I turned a curve and saw the most amazing burst of deep purple on a bush! It was just stunning.

What do you see? Who cheers you on?

I run on a sidewalk next to a busy street. Sometimes I am cheered on by my neighbor or young highschool boys driving their trucks or sport cars. I like to look at the grass and trees as I pass. I also run through a neighborhood where I see kids playing ball or riding bikes. Depending on the time, I run towards the purpley-orange sunset -- that is my favorite.

I run the trial around my neighborhood in Palos Verdes Estates,California. There is one trail that follows along the rim of a small canyon where you reach a cliff that looks about 100' feet down a cliff to the surf at lower Haggerty's..It is an awesome site and sound..The canyon on one side of a ridge trail that is about 6 feet wide and the oceansurf on the other side. It reminds me of Kauaii where the same experience happened to me on the way up to the top of the volcanoe.

My favorite marathon run was the new Las Vegas Marathon that starts in the dark along the strip with Fireworks over the city when the starter gun is shot. Now that is a cheering you on event. Along the run were show girls, show boys, lights, elvis imitators, brides and groom that got married at the wedding chapel at mile 6, then ran the rest of the course, gospel choirs in the black neighborhoods, school bands next to their campuses, cheerleaders and a cast of thousand giving a friendly cheer, and refreshments as you run by.
What a memory....!!!

I see a lot of private high school running teams when I'm out running, mainly boys teams; have to say, they are much nicer boys than the ones at my public school's team. :) I live near a lake, and I love running along the road next to it; you see so much, like...well, it's a lake. It's just cool to see what it looks like on different days, in different weather. Sometimes it's peaceful, sometimes it's so stormy that I feel the mist all the way up the cliff from it. I love it.

I run out in the country roads, so I see a lot of birds and animals. People driving past will sometimes honk or wave.

This weekend, I saw turkey vultures, pileated woodpeckers, lots of cardinals, and a blue heron. Also some rabbits and a racoon. Sometimes I'll get lucky and see deer.

Once while running up a trail I saw 2 guys running down wearing only running shoes & backpacks. They said 'hi' as we passed. Being a guy, I must say I don't hope to repeat the sighting.
