how could this sonnet be used to justify a difference in the lovers' age?

In short the sonnet says "love conquers all", "love knows no bounds" and "love is never ending".

As for a difference in age...reference the line
"Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds"
I suppose the argument could be made that if the age difference matters, then it is not truly love.

Also..
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom

What is being said is that time does not diminish love, but you could turn that around to say that love is timeless(therefore ageless)

At least that's how I would make the argument.
