yes it is very much true. Jesus and God the Father were one in essence. The Trinity was represented by three personalities. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. All one. Mind, Body, Soul. All are one.

You should also consider the context of the passages. I am sure if you study the scripture you have quoted here, as well as others, you will find your answer.

Yes, rick. But you have to believe in the Holy Trinity in order to believe this yourself. If you don't then it's not going to make sense to you and likely you will reject such a claim. But as someone who believes, yes, it's true. I believe the Trinity is
1)God; eternal, everlasting, omnipotent, omnipresent
2) The Holy Spirit; God's grace sent to humanity & offered in miraculous power to the chosen who have voiced God's words throughout the Old Testament.
3) Jesus; the human incarnation of God who chose to send a human likeness for us to hear teaching from before we were saved by the ultimate sacrifice....of which Easter is the culmination of said sacrifice.
The answer is right here, it is up to you to accept and believe or not.

Yes, but the Muslims hate that quote. They are always arguing against this quote. They believe Jesus was just a regular prophet that never even got crucified and that Jesus was not God.

Jesus meant that they were so united in thought, purpose and actions that he was a perfect reflection of his father. Later in the scriptures he prayed that we would all be one with them also (John 17:22) so it cannot mean that they are the same person unless you believe that he wants all of us to be absorbed into the godhead.

Absolutely. Here are specific scriptures in both the Tonakh and the New Testament. Quotes are by God, Jesus, disciples and apostles.

A Child is to be born as a man who will be the Mighty God.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jehovah says that He and the coming Redeemer are eternal.
Isaiah 44:6
"Thus says YHWH, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer [Yeshua], the YHWH of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.'"

Jesus confirmed the above as well as His being the Almighty.
Revelation 1:8
Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Again, Who is the Redeemer? Who is the Savior? YHWH.
Isaiah 49:26
"All flesh shall know That I, YHWH, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."

Before He was born, Jesus identified the trinity.
Isaiah 48:16
"Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His SPIRIT Have sent ME."

Three distinct personalities are seen in Jesus' baptism.
Matthew 3:16
When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Jews sought to stone Jesus for claiming to be the eternal.
John 8
“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Jesus says that He and the Father are ONE (heis in Greek which means literally the number 1) Jews seek to stone Him for claiming to be God incarnate.
John 10
"I and My Father are one."
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”
The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."

Jesus does not rebuke Thomas for calling Him God, but rather promises a blessing to those who would believe later.
John 20:28
And Thomas answered and said to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Paul confirms that Jesus is God.
Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men... looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Well it is if you believe it to be.

He also said when he ascended to heaven I will not leave you comfortless I will leave my Holy Spirit I will be with you.
So Jesus is the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is God. He is Deity, Hes one.

Praise God

Maybe Jesus meant God wants us to have love, peace, and understanding. Like what Jesus taught. Not that he thought he is God? I don't know, that's what I'm thinking anyway.

there's another angle to it, too. God the Father is everywhere, right? try re-reading it with the scrpiture "he who has eyes let him see" in the back of your mind. it's also about 'getting it'- listening to Jesus and understanding and God being revealed to you through this
