i have a friend who used to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day without any problems but lately when he smokes, he gets bouts of ataxia where he feels vertigo, cannot move properly, is reduced to walking in little steps and is forced to lie down for a period of 8-12 hours. The ataxia experienced is for a long period of time and the walking gait, balance, and stance are affected. The best way to describe it is the movements of my friend become robotic and cannot do much physical activity. Has anyone ever heard of or experienced this condition and if so are there any remedies. Thanks all

He needs to go to the emergency room when this happens. Or see his doctor NOW. This is not from smoking cigarettes.
