If you do then Revelation 22:18 should come true. Lets test it...

“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.” Revelation 22:18
I will add to Revelation 22:12-14

12"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
1. 14"Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.

Here goes...

12"Behold, I am coming soon! I will come in the year 2000. It seems to fit. My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. But those who are really nice to others I will keep them from hell even if they do not believe in me. It would be mean if I sent good people to hell. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. But every God in between is just as great as I.
2. 14"Blessed are those who wash their robes with Tide, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city”

I am still here, alive and well. So... did the Bible tell the truth? Did its prophecy come true?

No.

So how reliable is the rest of the Bible?

Yes.

You aren't rewriting the book of Revelation. You are writing that you are adding to it...

So? Because John wrote this, no one has actually falsefied the book of Revelation. Also, Jesus told John to write it. So? That means that it will happen if one rewrote it and changed it. People have added to the book in Revelation in additional doctrines though, that change what Revelation truly reveals. So, those who are in charge of that deception are in big trouble.

And if you try to make light of a sin like this, and do it to prove a point & deceive people in the process, you would be judged a false prophet and highly likely thrown into the Lake of Fire, the second death. The book of Revelation is a true Revelation from Jesus Christ give to John. These conscequences will happen, if it is written by a true Prophet hearing from the LORD God.

Okay, first of all, the Bible does NOT say Jesus will come back in the Year 2000. I mean, come on, our current calendar wasn't even in existence when Revelations was written.

I think it's clear that the Bible isn't literally true from cover to cover. Otherwise, we'd have to believe that science is wrong and that God made the world in six days, created us out of nothing, etc. That said, I do think the Bible is a special book, with a certain power to it, and I personally believe in Jesus and think there are a lot of lessons we can learn from the Bible, though I highly doubt that God wants us to go around stoning adulterers or making women cover their heads :)

Even atheists have to admit that there's no role model like Jesus.

No I do not believe the bible is the inspired word of God - especially the NT portion.

The apostles believed that Jesus would return in their life time. Which never happened.

Babylon is no longer with us.

Paul's version of the OT doesn't actually match the OT that we have - in fact it is off in several places - including the need for blood sacrifice as the ONLY atonement for sins.

The fact that the 'prophecies' Christians point to for Jesus aren't actual prophecies, let alone Messianic ones. And all the Messianic ones are unfulfilled by Jesus.

The OT has more going for it in the truth area - as there are archeology finds confirming certain things. But was it truly written by God - no.

Yes every word of the bible is the true inspired word of God. and yes every word is the truth. John 1 say In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Jesus is the Word and has been here since before creation. He has always been and always will be.

God doesn't send anyone to hell they send themselves. God gives us the choice to make.

I would be scared if I was you. You don't want to make God angry or play around with His Word.

I will pray that your heart changes real soon. God still lives you and you still can give your life to Him.

The bible is a conglomeration of old text that have been translated so many times that it's hard to say what is true and what isn't. Not to mention that the bible was not written by the apostles themselves but several HUNDRED years later based on oral history. The only thing anyone can say for sure in regards to the bible is that it's an old book. If that's the criteria to make something holy...

For the question to make sense, you been to specify - Which Bible, and which God. There are hundreds of Bibles and thousands of gods.

If you want to consider one particular Bible as special, why not another - say the Upanishads or the Vedas or the Avestas?

If you want to pick a God, why pick the boring God of the fundies of America? Athena of Athens is a lot smarter, Diana is better looking than old Yahweh, and Arjuna has a lot of cool stories to tell. And if all else fails, there's always L. Ron Hubbard and his Xemu.

2 Peter 3
The Day of the Lord
3First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

1 Thessalonians 4

The Coming of the Lord
13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these word

I personally do not regard the Bible as the inspired word of any god. It is a collection of writings by a wide variety of persons written at different times and places. Much of the literature has been altered over time by other authors--some changes intentional, others unintentional. Though the collection is called by some "the Good Book" and followed as though it were meant to be a blueprint for living a good life, anyone who reads it carefully will discover that it is an extremely poor blueprint for living a good life.
