It appears that Erdes has an English origin. check out the following link

Looking for the origin of a certain name is a common question here. And it's fine if that is all someone wants. But it does not tell you anything for certain. Your best bet would be to research your particular line person by person, generation by generation.

If you go to www.familysearch.org and type in Erdes, you will see that there are several entries to support the English origin.

If you wish to persue your specific surname further, E-mail me via my profile and I will give you some more helpful genealogy sites. Blessings.

Erd, Eard, Erdes and Erdis, this is an English surname. It is one of the occupational names for a keeper of animals, generally cows or sheep. The derivation is from the pre 7th Century Olde English word 'hierde' meaning a herd or flock. Occupational surnames were amongst the earliest to be created, but often they did not become hereditary unless a son or sometimes a grandson, followed in the footsteps of the father.

Logan - that's a sort of brook/creek in eire. My final call is from my adoptive dad, so that's not from my ancestry. My ancestors - community American and French.. a tiny little bit of British and Irish. yet hardly adequate to count. i like my final call and history!
