You are in a cocktail of trouble,if you were drinking or had a
drink,Say hello to a DUI or DWI Charge (bad mojo),you also
have the unlawful posession of alcohol by a minor (so not
only you, but the person who sold/gave it to you will get burnt)
the Suspended License is a sure bet to get you locked in the clink..so things don't look good even if you pay the fines

Next time, leave the beer, call a cab,and watch your friends

Hello,
first of all, each state has different laws. In Texas a small amount litter is a class c misdemeanor (fines up to $ 500.00). Open container law applies here to and is enforced relentless. The driver is responsible for anything in the vehicle no one claims. So, just think about that. You can get out of the fine by asking for deferred adjudication. ( it means that you will not get anymore of the same type of tickets in the next six month to a year. If you honor this, the ticket is dropped and you just pay a court cost). insurance usually got up if the ticket you got where moving violations ( speeding, not signaling, fail to yield r.o.w., and like road rage). I would speak to the court by writing a 500 word essay ( extremely good) Tell the court why this was not a good ideal and what you have learned. Most courts like to know that you have truly learned a lesson.

I really don't feel sorry for you, bro. Not a smart thing to have a bunch of high schoolers in your car boozing it up. Leave drinking in a house or outside. I hope you learned your lesson.

But to answer your questions, you might be able to pull something off, but to be honest with you, I'd just apologize like hell, not piss off anybody, pay the $500 in fines and move on. If you feel better, have your friends pony up their fair share of the cash since it seems as if they were the ones consuming alcohol.

As for the insurance, yes it will go up. Depending on the company you may get dropped if you had any prior tickets. How much will it go up? Not sure. But if you have "transportation of an open container of alcohol" as the ticket, it will probably be the same as a stiff speeding ticket.

Good luck, and tell your friends to leave the alcohol in the trunk next time!

This is a classic case of a teenager hanging with the wrong kind of people. Choose your friends more carefully.....

To answer your question, you can't just get out of a ticket. You were the person operating the car, you are responsible for your passengers. Maybe this will teach you the hard way to choose friends more carefully.

Remember, driving is a privilege not a right.

No. If you want to be an adult and drive then you have to take the responsibility that goes along with it. You know drinking and driving is wrong and dangerous so take what they give you and learn a lesson from it.

Will your ins skyrocket? You really don't want to know.

Considering the friends you have, you don't need enemies.
