You will get the best price on cruises if you book early and by early I mean like six to nine months or more early. Also, if you go to the cruise line web sites they will show their specials and many times a cruise on a certain date will be less than other dates. But if you don't shop around, you may not know that the other date is cheaper. If you are on a cruise many cruise lines will give you a discount if you book your next cruise while on the ship. The discount will be in the range of $50 to $100 per person.

I have seen people write that you can get deals by waiting until the last minute. I would never do this as you may not have a deal come along, or, the deal may be on an inside cabin on a lower deck and not the type cabin that you really want. They sell it cheaper just to fill the ship. I am a member of several cruise line frequent cruiser clubs and have signed up for the last minute cruises. But none of the offers that I have received for "last minute" are that much of a discount to me.

Book early !!!

In my opinion as soon as you know you are travelling...that way you can get the room you want.

If you want a cheap ticket-then the closer to the cruise sailing time the cheaper the tickets are!
