I am in my mid 20's and I fell inlove to a guy who is 14yrs older than me. He courted me when I was 18 and was in College. When my parents found out that he's my BF they don't like it and were not happy about it. So we broke up to give way to my parents but got together again after couple of months. He has a degree and also a decent job, as for me I got my degree and now have a decent job to a prominent company. Our relationship will turn 6yrs and right now I am still afraid to tell my parents that he is still my BF because of fear of rejection and the fear that the past will happen again once I told them the truth. I don't want them to be upset and be mad at me but I don't want to be in a situation where I have to hide this relationship forever. Any suggestion or comments? Thanks.

If you love this person and he loves you, then despite what others think, go with your inner feelings. Age is no barrier where love is concerned. If you do feel inside, this is the man for you, then go for it. Your parents will see eventually that you have made the right choice. I wish you all the best for the future together.

Your parents love you and would want to know that you have someone that means a lot to you in your life. Tell them the truth. It would hurt them more if they uncovered it themselves. Think of a nice calm way to ease yourself into unloading your secret. They are your parents, let them know.

i think you are old enough to let your parents know --- while they may not like it they should be able to see that its is serious and stable ---- they could have worried because of the age difference at 18 and while its still there is not as noticable now --- best wishes and find happiness

in case you like this guy or woman and he loves you, then inspite of what others think of of, bypass inclusive of your inner thoughts. Age is not any barrier the region love is nervous. in case you do journey indoors, that's the guy for you, then % for it. Your parents will see finally which you have made the appropriate decision.
