About half the time when I try to open a folder with picture files in it, Windows Explorer crashes. I didnt have this problem until after I got Adobe Photoshop, so I assume Photoshop is causing it.

What appears to be happening is that Photoshop and Windows Explorer cannot decide which one should make the thumbnails for my pictures. I dont really mind which one does, I just want to be able to view my picture files without having the folder close. How do I change my settings so Explorer and Photoshop make up thier minds on who creates image thumbnails?

And please, no answers like "dont use thumbnails" or "get rid of photoshop"

Try to do this, open a folder containing other JPEG images that did not crash the computer, and right clicked a jpeg file and selected properties, then went to the "Photoshop Image" tab, and de-selected the "Generate Thumbnails" option. This should fixed the crashing problem and drastically sped up the folder browsing process.
if the error continue you have no choice except do not view the image using thumbnails.

Here are some steps to prevent this from happening:

1. get a box about 20 inches by 24 inches
2. put your pc in the box, throw it out the window, and go by a mac!
