Potuistis = You (pl) were able (perfect)
Potes = You (sing) are able
Poterant = They were able (imperfect)
Adfuerimus = We will have been present (May also be perfect subjunctive)
Possunt = They are able
Aberunt = They will be absent
Potest continere = he/she/it is able to retain (many other meanings for continere)
Poteramus audire = We were able to hear (imperefect)
Poterunt invenire = They will be able to find (other meanings possible for invenire)

adfuerimus, possunt, aberunt.=we have been,they can,they will have.
potest continere = he/she/it can preserve (or contain or surround; continere has many meanings).
poteramus audire.= we have could hear
poterunt invenire = they will be able to discover (or reach or find - also meany meanings).
