I believe so.

If we (humans collectively) were created in His image, why would he deny the kingdom of heaven to His children that are born into a region where Christianity exists?

Doesn't sound like the benevolent God that I know.

No you will not, we do not win our salvation, however if we proclaim that Jesus is Lord over our life then we will gain salvation and the acceptance of the Holy Spirit, God's gift to the world to be in contact with Him at all times. Living a goo dlfie is never enough to get into heaven.

If you are not a train ticket holder, can you still ride the train?

If you do not have an airline ticket or boarding pass, can you still ride the airplane?

As the song says (by the old group Acapella), "Jesus is your ticket to heaven -- He's already paid the price."

Depends on which religion and which sect you ask. A literal translation of the Bible will show that an acceptance of Jesus as savior is required for entrance to heaven (as long as one hasn't committed the unforgivable and damnable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, that is [Mark 3:29, Matt 12:32, Luke 12:10)]. Of course, very few Chrisitians actually follow a literal interpretation of the Bible, so I'm sure there are many who imagine up their own "criteria".

Of course, since there is no such thing as heaven, it doesn't matter what our opinions are.

If you accept the idea everything happens according to a god's "plan," then there should be no need for a hell, since the gods already know what's going to happen so all creatures are just following the "plan." Therefore, no one needs to worry about going to heaven, right? The gods apparently know there are going to be a percentage of people who don't believe in them, and they would also be in the "plan," so non-believers would go to heaven, too.
I have yet to have a believer agree with this, or even accept it. In one breath they say "Everything happens for a reason," then they say "Accept Jesus or go to hell." Strange.

No. God is in charge and already made a way through Jesus. When you become God of the universe you can change the rules to suit your fancy.
The good thing is that if they were so called "good" and remember that "good" can be relavent to each person and God has His own standards of what "good" is...but say they didnt murder, commit adultery, steal or covet but instead they gave money to the poor.... their judgement (punishment) would be different than if they were a greedy extortioner, rapist, thief and a murderer. God is fair and has made it easy and clear. Jesus is the way to heaven.

No! You cannot get to heaven without being a Christian. Jesus said, " Neither is there salvation in any other for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby you must be saved."

Absolutely not. No one is righteous enough in themselves to get to heaven on their good deeds. Its not like a scale or balancing act (maybe your good deeds will outweigh the bad) God requires perfection and that can be found in Jesus Christ His son. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Not be a good person and you shall be saved. Trust in Him who died for your sins. If you have questions email me.

According to most branches of Christianity, no.

- Some say that belief in Jesus is the only requirement ("No one may get into heaven but through me").
- Some say you must be both good and believe in Jesus ("Faith without works is dead")

According to many other religions and even a couple branches of Christianity, yes you get in on being a good person.

I live my life the best I can. I make mistakes (of course) but I'd say on the scales I'm more 'good' than 'bad'.

No, I'm not going to heaven. I'm going to the summerlands to hang out and recharge until I decide to try again.

Blessings,
Zimmi
