when i lost a breedin cat who had a litter of 5 day old kittens my spayed tortie started to produce milk she had been spayed about one month she brought those kittens up as hers so i never had hand feed them she had disliked having any kittens around but she would never hurt them so i was surprised that within hours of the kittens having lost their mama that she was there for them. i kept one of the kittens and she continued to suckle him uptil he was fifteen weeks.
so i would say that she wants a kitten to look after and become a playmate for her. try and get one from a humane society for her if you can you will be saving lives.

This might be a surprise to you but I think that your cat has found that kitten took it home and took care of it and that tells me that your cat wants to have a kitten by the way you explained it I think that the kitten already had a mom and ran to it when it ran away so what I think you should do is get it a toy kitten that feels and looks like a realy kitten and if you can let it make a sound like a purr when it gets squished or something like that.

I hope the poor kitten found its way home! I would agree with what most have said and say yes, get a kitten if you can afford one and want one. Cats are generally happier in pairs because they're incredibly affectionate animals and love to fuss over each other. It'd also be nice for the kitten to leave one mother for another adoptive one, because it's traumatic when they leave their own mother. The only problem I can see is that she wouldn't take to a new kitten for some reason....but hopefully that wouldn't be the case.

Give your cat a big stroke from me, thats a really cute story, id say yes your cat would like a kitten, she probably found the other one and brought it home to protect it but as she is now moping then if you could cope with another cat id say get one. Ive got 3 and would love more but cant afford more at the moment.

Yes, your cat definetly wants a playmate. Get her a kitten to play with. It's not uncommon that some cats will want someone to play with. Actually cats are not herd animals and most of them are happy being the only cat, but at time you will find one who wants a playmate, and when that happens it is best to have two cats. It doesn't mean that your cat does't love you, but it just means that it needs someone of it's own species to play with in a way that you can't. If you love your cat, make her happy.

awww... that is soooo coool! I hope your cat finds the kitten again. Your cat must have a very powerful maternal instinct! She obviously wants to take care of a kitten! I'll go get her one, if I were you... that way, your female cat will always have someone to play with and keep her busy.

She makes use of her mouth to %. up her kittens with the help of the extra epidermis on the kittens neck. A gate won't do something, they are in a position to bounce very severe, and over the gate. enable a towel dangle over the sting of your counter. So the cat will leap, seize on the towel and that they are in a position to't get up on the counter. Cats hate water, yet a bottle won't do something.

Sounds like she's broody. This can happen to spayed cats.Mine decided to be motherly with my 2 ferrets when I got them as kittens. Was good as I didn't have to worry how she'd get on with them lol.
If you also like the idea of getting a kitten then get 1.

If you can, get a kitten.
We used to have a dog that would mother anything that was smaller than her. She raised a litter of kittens once and years later the big tom cat we kept would still curl up at her belly and nurse.

i had this problem too.the kitten also disappeared and my poor cat was really upset. i decided to get a kitten for her and have never regretted it i have a happier cat and a much loved kitten. maybe motherhood is inbuilt in all us females, who knows? give it a try ....i'm sure you will be more than happy with the results. more importantly.....so will your cat. good luck.
