Your question has the ring of "argumentation". What kind of challenge is this that you are sending people you are accusing of not knowing God? If they rejected him, that obviously implies that they never got to know him for how can anyone truly knowing such a wonderful God even think of rejecting him? You have obviously learned about the milk of it all, which you drank and appreciated enough but have not yet partaken of the solid food described in the Scriptures. If you had, you wouldn't be asking such a question in this manner whatsoever and you would know the answer. (not saying that you don't! have your own idea of what it is but we can't go wrong by asking him for more, always more faith... as it would prompt you to read the bible more until you get to appreciate the ways of wisdom it contains and apply them as you go about sharing them.

Um, I was a Christian for 20 years. I'd say that's a pretty decent representation of my willingness to have given God a "chance".

Faith is belief in something for which there is no proof. There are varying levels of "faith".

For instance, I can have faith that my brother loves me. I can see him, hear him, touch him, even smell him when he wears that horrible cologne of his.

I cannot prove that he loves me, since I am not in his mind. I do, however, have evidence via his loving actions, that he does love me.

Faith in God is a kind of faith that has no evidence whatsoever.

Faith is believing despite the absence of evidence.

I don't see any of that in the believers here - they almost all claim to have evidence.

You seem to think that it's the nonbelievers who lack faith, but in fact we're closer to faith than most of the believers: we at least recognize the absence of evidence. If it's a lack of faith in God that bothers you, you should be addressing the believers, not the nonbelievers.

Finally, you seem to think that people who don't believe in god didn't "give him a chance". That's false: most American atheists, at least, were Christians at one point in their lives. We're atheists because we've thought about this, and been open-minded about it. There are _some_ believers who can claim the same, but in fact the vast majority of believers are simply people who accepted the religion of their peers without thinking about it.

He doesn't show His face because He's testing us? I think that's exactly how Christianity came into being -- they could not believe in a God they couldn't see in flesh and blood.

faith is believing in something that you don't see. I am a christian and I do have faith in God. I have never seen Him but I do know that He exists.

faith is believing in something with out evidence of it. let me ask you a question now, im sure you've spoken of free will at some point saying god gave it to us and expects us to use it wisely. does that mean that we can make any choice we want as long as it is him? not much of a choice now is it?

The meaning of life is to have a life of meaning. The meaning of faith is to believe in God and love Him, have a relationship with Him, and live for Jesus. Trust me... God will/ has supplied you with a Bible. read Romans and it will totally "rule ur world" so to speak as most girls would say. : ) but i am a guy so that doesn't figure... lol nevermind about the girl part

Hebrews 11
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Sorry, but your claim is false. MANY of us gave your god a chance for many years.
I refuse to worship your god on moral grounds. Your creator god is allegedly omiscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. Therefore, he set up his creation for failure, turned his back on them when they did and punished them for doing what he created them to do.. then required the blood sacrifice of innocent animals to make it up to him.. and when he got tired of that, he forced human sacrfice on them. Additionally, your god commanded that his people slaughter entire races of fellow human beings, sent bears to kill small children for laughing at a bald man's head, throws tantrums, and threatens those who won't get in line with his way of doing things with eternal torture. But he loves us???
If I can be more moral than your god, he doesn't deserve my worship.
