I think a good wedding song is one that both you and your partner really like and that you have some emotional attachment to. It is nice when you have been married for a while to be able to listen to the song and for it to have a lot of sentimental importance to you.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

In regard to "A whole new world," I think it depends what you are planning to use it for. If by "wedding song" you just mean "song that will be played/sung at the ceremony or reception," then, yes, I think it would be beautiful--especially if it has meaning for you and your fiance. BUT if by "wedding song" you mean "song for the official bridal dance," then consider it very carefully. I can't remember the exact tempo of this version of "Whole New World," but whatever you choose for your dance, see if you can ACTUALLY dance to it.
Many love songs fall into the realm of being too fast for "slow-dancing," and too slow for faster dancing, like forms of ballroom and swing. For our wedding, we chose Harry Connick Jr.'s "It had to be you." We both really loved that song, but it ended up being to fast for a romatic slow dance.
Just make sure to attempt to dance to something before you choose and you should be fine.

I think it's a great wedding song. It's different--you don't hear it much, and it has a great message about starting a "new world" with someone that you really want to be with. What a fantastic, unique song!

It doesn't matter what song you play - no one is going to sit there and judge you on your song. Some couples have rap, rnb, and old song, a new song, an instrumental song, whatever the couple wants. If it means alot to your wife, and if you also like the song - then go for it !

Considering that once you get married the two of you will be exploring a whole new world together it seems very appropriate.

OMG, the lyrics to this song are soooooooo beautiful. I dont know why it has not been used in weddings more often. You should definetely give your fiance this pleasure.

No. You are hopefully mature, and need a mature song for the wedding. No Disney.

Sure, it's typical, but go with your song the two of you share. I had "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge soundtrack.
