I'm black, 15yrs old, and idk why, but they just keep saying no w/ no reason why, please help, thx.

Don't get them, its very bad for your hair and really grimmy. You'll go months without washing your hair, and you'll have to shave your head to get them off. Most girls don't like dreadlocks anyway!

They could be afraid that you will receive negative backlash because of your hair. As you know, society judges people based upon what they look like, and dreadlocks originate with the Rastafarian religion. Sadly, most people stereotype these people as pot-smoking, weirdos who listen to Bob Marley all day. (not true!!!!) There may be no convincing your parents, but, present your argument (respectfully) and hope for the best.

well... never say (well everyone else has them) that will give you an auto matic no if you give them five good reasons now these reasons have to be good ones they should come around but the one thing you never want to do is ask them to much they will get mad and then you will get in trouble and the answer will still be no! so keep trying !

Tell them what my grandmother told me about my kids. There are many important things to worry about with kids, hair is not one of them. It is there hair, don't make a big deal about it and let them do what they want with there own hair.

don't do this it is hard on your hair. and your scalp. It could damage your hair for a long time

dreads are fine, especially if you're African-American. you can do it yourself... but i'm not necessarily advising you to do so.
