Okay, so I have hair about 6 inches below my shoulders and I'm tired of wearing it down all of the time. It is naturally stick straight. Does anybody have any ideas? I'm looking for something more on the casual side.

You can make a sophisticated ponytail by wearing it low, wrapping a section of your hair around the elastic and securing it with a pin. You can also use a ribbon for a touch of whimsy.

Hair bands are in this season. Plain thin ones are very classic. Or you can use a scarf for a retro '60s look. You can embellish plain ones with hot glue and buttons or beads for a casual or evening look.

You can make your hair into a neat bun. For a plain but finished look, pin down strays w/ hair pins that have tortoise shell on one side. (Goody makes them.) For a dressier effect use hair pins w/ pearls or rhinestones.

For a casual look, make a messy bun or chignon.

You can braid your hair & wear the braid down. Or you can loosely braid your hair & create a bun.

BTW, you can braid your hair after shampooing and let it dry. Take out the braids and you'll have a loose wave/crimp that's perfect for a beachy, summer look.

Allure & InStyle are really good magazines for hair style ideas.

I've discovered this type of updo that can be very fun, if you don't mind looking a little preppy. Part you hair to one side, (not in the middle). Pull your hair straight back into a ponytail, but leave some slack so it's not too tight, then take the wisps around your hair line and pull them out of the ponytail evenly, and part them to the side, and then do whatever kind of bun you want in the back. Spray the crown of your head with hairspray so it covers the wisps and the hair behind it, so it looks nice and smooth. You're good to go!

Wow, you are so lucky! I'd love to have hair like that... anyway... If you want to keep it straight a fun thing to do is layering.. because from there you can add a lot of style accents, from feathering, to wings... but due to your hair length I would say ponytail and updo variations would be best. Otherwise, Curl it baby! Thats always a fun style to try, even for a day! The Ceramix triple barrel waving iron is a good idea for that.

have you ever attempted putting it in a bun and preserving it with 2 chop sticks that make an x in the time of the bun? Pencils artwork, too. What approximately putting your hair in an exceptionally extreme ponytail on your head, wrap some hair around the holder and pin so which you do no longer see it. curl something with a curling iron or warm rollers, mess it up, or depart greater formal curls. you need to pin up a number of the curls for a diverse look.

Try side bangs. Then put it up in a pony tail. I actually think its a great style.
