I got my tubes tied almost 9 years ago when I was 22. Now I am almost 2 weeks late but I took a home test and it was neg. I have had a little mild cramping, breast tenderness, and have been moody but my period has not started. Has anyone ever had a similar experience?

Well "Cee" I had my tubes tied at age 22, so that is not a teenager...I had my tubes tied because I was married and just had my 2nd child in 23 months. I felt that my family was complete.

Also thanks everyone for teh advice. If I do not get my period by next month I am see a doc. I however do not think that I am going through menopause at age 31....

That your test came out negative when you're two weeks late, that's a good sign, but you could still be pregnant. The process of having your tubes tied is not a one hundred percent permanent. There are plenty of cases where the tubes may heal themselves back together, and I know that for sure from family experience. So to answer your main question: yes, it is possible. However, I wouldn't worry too much about that being the case, but there are still plenty of issues that could be causing your problems. Get in to see your doctor soon.

It is highly, highly, highly unlikely you are pregnant if you had your tubes tided 9 years ago... but it IS possible. That you took a test that came up negative makes it even more unlikely that you are pregnant. I highly recommend that you pay a visit to a doctor. There are a number of problems that could cause these symptoms, and you want a professional to have a look, rather than relying on us Yahoos! The possibilities are too varied and numerous for you to get a proper diagnosis here.

I had the same thing about 10 years after the tubal. My doctor told me that if a tubal were to fail it would have been much closer to the time it was done and not 10 years later. I would just make an appointment to go talk to your OB and they can do a blood test that will show what your hormones are up to.

Why did you have your tubes tied at such an early age. Did you have a medical problem. ? I thought most physicians wouldn't tie a teenagers tubes. If tubes are not tied and burnt they will come loose. Best answer is to have a check-up... Good Luck
