i have hair...about 1 inch above my shoulders...i am so clueless....no flipping plesase..

down is always nice. you could french braid the top half and leave the rest hanging or you could put it up in a pony tail. whatever works for you.

Look at google images for Jessica Simpson, Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock. I believe each of these have had great, versatile, shoulder-length cuts without any flipping!

you could do a little wave or go straight.
really depends on what you want and what your hair is naturally like.
