I am not sure. Twenty five years is a long time. Normally I wouldn't think it would be necessary to tell someone you were not coming back. However in this case, it would be nice if you told her that you just feel you need a change.

It would hurt her feelings a bit, I am sure, but she deserves to know that you are taking your business elsewhere. I would suggest that you find another hairstylist before you tell the current one about the switch.

If you simply stopped coming in, she might be concerned about you. 25 years is a long time to have the same client, no doubt you two have had many conversations. Simply tell her that though you have enjoyed the past 25 years, you feel you need a change. That's all you need to tell her.

Good luck.

If you have become close to your hairdresser over 25 yrs then yes, tell her. If there is no friendship, just strictly bussiness then theres not need to say anything. I was in your situation. I went to one hair dresser for 10 yrs. As the yrs went by her work got messier and messier. she made my hight lits come out like zebra stripes on my head. It was awful! I luckily found a lady who does hair at home. She's a professional hairstylist but pt she works from home and shes charges really cheap and does a hell of a good job. Last xmass I desperately had 2 get my hair done and the hair stylist who does hair at home was not available. I had no choice but to go 2 my old hair stylist. She asked where I've been. I liked and said that my friend graduated beauty school and she does my hair now and I couldn't get her to do my hair so i came 2 u. Do you know my hair came out sooo shitty? When I piecke up my hair there were no highlights in the middle. WTF????

Put the shoe on the other foot and try to understand how you might feel if a loyal customer of 25 years just stopped showing up.

I'm having a little trouble understanding why you would change after 25 years. Your stylist obviously has experience and could probably duplicate any change in style that you would prefer. If there are other more serious issues involved than just wanting a change, then by all means, change and don't say anything.

14 days... the snowstorm of 2009. in basic terms left the residing house to take advantage of the cows / goats interior the barn and feed the the remainder of the animals... plowed the only million.seventy 5 miles down our driveway, however the county plows did no longer get out to our area for 2 weeks. So we spent ninety% of those 2 weeks interior the residing house... thank goodness we save an entire pantry, have lots of firewood / propane, and have a heavy-accountability generator !! We have been out of potential for 12 of those 14 days as properly.

Don't let your hairdresser rule your life. And you don't really know yet if you are changing hair stylists. If you don't like the new one you may go back. If you do, so you tried something new, so what? If you like the new hairstylist and you don't go back to the old one she/he will notice when they never see you again. But they will get over it, trust me.

You don't need to tell her anything. You have the right to go to anyone you choose, and you owe her no explanation. If she happens to call you at home, (I can't imagine a stylist doing that, unless she is also a friend on a social basis) then simply tell her you thought you'd try something different and leave it at that.

If she's a friend, yes, tell her why you're changing.

If she's not close to you, don't bother. I am sure that stylists lose and gain customers all the time.

Unless your hairdresser is your personal friend you don't need to give any reason. Go and give someone else a go.
