My wedding will be May 18, 2008. Is it too early to buy a wedding dress? I don't generally fluctuate in weight unless I get sick in which case I usually gain it all back. If not, which dress do you think looks the best on me? The halter one would need taken in by the bust and the halter strap would need to be smaller. Also, I don't mind if you comment on how big I look in each dress; I know I am not a twig by any means, but I also don't want to look like a beached whale on my wedding day! I hope these links work, but if notl, then I will keep an eye on here to see the comments and I'll fix it-so please check back.

Also, the one with the red will actually be in truffle, which is a dark brown.

Thanks so much for the opinions; keep them coming. Oh and by the way, my friend told me I look mad in the pics. I wasn't mad, just not ready for them and I was tired. My mom went a bit picture crazy. Lol. Also, I'm not one that likes their picture taken, nor standing up in front of everyone (even though most other people are in their own little world). I just wanted to throw that out there.

I'm not going to end this yet. I want to put up a couple pictures of the dress I bought tonight. Thanks so much for all of the responses. I thought one of those dresses just had to be THE dress, because I thought they were all pretty. Also, I didn't believe some of you who said none of them were THE dress if I wasn't sure between those. Well, you guys were right! I found THE dress tonight. It was totally different than what I had been looking at. I told the lady I wanted something unique and oh boy did she deliver! I'll post them no later than Friday night.

The halter gown is the most flattering to your body. However, I don't think any of those dresses is for you. When you put your wedding gown on you'll know it's the one.

Everyone seems to be going for the halter dress. The first dress shown (strapless with lots of detail) The bodice is ok, but the bottom and train is gorgeous. The one with the red, when I opened it, I said wow outloud. Very bold statement with colour like that, gorgeous dress all around! I read afterwards that it would be a brown though, not sure how I feel about that, but it still looks nice on you. The halter one, is nice, although we wern't able to see the full front, you can see the back, which is nice! I have a thing for strapless gowns mind you, but I think you look so pretty in a strapless one. Try on TONS of dresses, and no way is it too early. Btw, also! Get some self confidence there Miss! You're very average size, and you look beautiful in all the dresses! :)

Good luck! :)

Well, all 3 gowns are beautiful on you! I would say that you look best in the last one, the one that is all white with a halter! It compliments your figure and you can change your mind on your wedding colors and it wont make a difference (changing your mind on colors may be more possible than you think, I changed mine 3 times in a year).

If you have already gone dress shopping you are half way there BUT I did make the mistake of buying my dress to early. I would wait till you are about 7-9 months out from the wedding. Wait... especially if you are going to get your dress at davids bridal. They give you a book of coupons that you can use for your entire wedding party but most of them expire three months after you buy your dress. They actually did end up letting me use my coupons on my brides maids dresses but I had to speak to a manager about it and I am sure it made me look like bridezilla!!!

Not to mention that even if your weight usually stays about the same...things do happen. My weight was the same for about 3 years but with the stress and trying manage the wedding I gained about 15 pounds (not to mention the major life change of marriage!).

I know that it seems impossible, but seriously, I would wait at least a few more months. I was very anxious to get my dress and it ended up biting me in the butt. Plus, you should look around a bit. Davids bridal is great but there are some small shops out there that have better deals and "different" dresses.

Good luck on finding a dress! I know it is stressful and nerve racking! Just be careful getting dresses with color, because I chose my fav color and it turned out that it was a very hard color to find and match. If I would have kept that color I would have had 50 different variations of a dusty rose color at my reception. You will know when you find the right dress for you, it just kinda comes to you. Keep in mind that NOBODY will return a wedding dress if you change your mind! Not the little shops or the big chains...I mean nobody. Make sure that you are sure! Have fun and take lots of pictures!

The one with the halter, as long as the bodice gets fixed. It is a beautiful dress; back is gorgeous. Would have liked to see full front. You are a beautiful girl, average size, so no one would have commented on it negatively! Congrats and have fun planning!

oh my goodness!! you MUST do the halter - get it altered like you said- but it looks absolutely amazing!
the back is very pretty and it's very elegant yet simplistic! looks very nice!
also - my wedding is June 16, 2008 and i got my dress 2 months ago - so i don't think it's too early! :P Once you know it's the one - you know it's the one! It just takes some people longer than otheres to find it so that's why people get theirs later.
GodBless!

I like the halter best and the one w/o color second best, but I don't like color in wedding dresses. That's just my choice!

And, I'm getting married in June '08 and I already have my dress! I bought it about a month ago.

I like the strapless with the gold detailing. It looks really pretty on you. Although I don't think it's too early to start trying on dresses, I wouldn't buy one until you find the one that feels perfect to you. You will find it, so don't rush into anything! Good luck!

I personally think you look best in the halter. http://www.photovations.com/ims/pic.php?...

The halter is my favorite, if the straps were adjusted tighter (as I'm sure you would do anyway). It makes your waist look really small, and the train is gorgeous.

of the three the halter one is my favorite, I think it's beautiful on you, for the sizing it's not a big deal, you wait until closer to the date for the final fitting/ sizing/ alterations.
