Some people can stop using whatever brand they use and start buying the brand the network uses. This can cause a bit of damage to the system of different brand foods since some people like this brand and others the other brand

since they are not getting paid to advertise for a particular brand name, why would they? and it wouldnt be fair to all the other brands out there to do so. Also, I think the company has to agree to have there brands displayed on a televison show or movie. (or they might could sue, say if a family type name brand was displayed in a rated x movie, without consent of the company, it could change their image.)

I think it is because the shows on food network are not sponsored by andy of the products that they use so they do not show the name brands, but sometimes it is very easy too tell when they use pam the non stick spray :O}

It has to do with sponsorship. My daughter and I have a cooking show on a local cable channel and we say the name, and actually show the containers. We don't push it, we just say we are using a can of "Pet Milk" for example. Since it is local, I don't think it matters, although the show is on the internet.

It is because of legal issues and they are not paid to advertise for them.
