People drink beer faster and cans are easier to recycle. Wine and liquor might take on the taste of the can too. Thats the only thing I can think of.

Something to think about is the percentage of alcohol.
For example,

12oz's of beer is equivalent to 1.25oz of 80 proof liquor and also equivalent to 5-6oz of table wine as far as alcohol is concerned.

Another way to think about it is 1 shot of liquor is like chugging an entire can of beer or glass of wine.

Another thing to consider, when you pop the top on a can of beer you are planning to drink the entire can. If you did the same for a can of liquor you would be drinking almost ten shots...also wine is available in a can it is just not in all areas of the county.

You can get wine in cans in Tescos and other supermarkets here in the UK. It's usually the cheap stuff though.
I suppose because beer is fizzy it's easier to store longer in a can , light deteriorates beer a lot faster than wine and spirits as well ( hence the coloured glass in beer and wine bottles).
Who cares how it comes just let me at it!!!!!!!
And to the bozo who wants to ban all alcohol...Grrrrrrr!!!Don't even think about it!!!!

Even beer does not taste quite the same out of a can compared with a bottle. Stronger drinks would suffer more. It's because there are soluble elements in metal. Thats why some acidic tinned fruits are sold in lined cans.

Because lager is drunk on the mainstream cans are cheap and effective and keep it 'protected' from sunlight thus keeping its flavour. Quality beers are often in glass brown bottles which keep the vast majority of sunlight out. Glass bottles cost more and break easy during transport. I have see wine in cans in the shop.
