On a 'Tyra Banks' show, i came across a dog that was a mix between a labrador and a poodle (labradoodle/labrapoodle).
However, what shocked me is that they said it had been genetically modified to be hypoallergenic. Should we waste money on playing around with dog genes so people don't sneeze, when all around us there are others in great need of food, water, medical supplies and clothing.

No we shouldn't but that's just my own opinon... =)

I think that we should try to aim at taking care of both the human population and the Earth simultaneously and equally... I know, it can be hard but possible...

I also think that we shouldn't put our selfish desires and greed first at others expense... If people are allergic to dogs, simple don't get one for now... first feed / clothe the poor then get a dog! =)

Genetically modified in that they bred the 2 dogs hoping to come up with all puppies that are hypoallergenic.. They haven't achieved that, they are still breeding mutts and they will still get different combinations of the 2 dogs. They aren't doing this scientifically, they are playing around with 2 different breeds hoping to achieve something.

I agree with DP; they haven't done any genetic engineering on these dogs, they just crossed a lab with a poodle. Poodles are loosely considered "hypoallergenic;" I don't know about labs.

I also agree with Rocker Dude. It is insane the things that we do for our animals when little kids are starving and people in general are dying in the streets of the greatest country in the world. And as someone esle mentioned, they are NOT doing anything with science, they are just screwing around and creating mutts for their own greedy needs. People need to wake up and realize that wjile most of us love our dogs, there are other things in life that take priority. I hope someone listens to you.

can't seem to find a problem with that. It'd be nice if people with allergies could have the possibility and the pleasure to have a dog. Wouldn't you hate it if you wanted a dog sooooo badly but your allergies were gettin in the way????

Did you know universities and Bio companies have patents on modified animal genes? Weird and sort of scary huh?
