I'm 19 years old, so is my boyfriend. I haven't dated very much, so I haven't brought many guys home for my parents to meet. My mom is very paranoid about me being alone with him, and doesn't trust me at all. What can I do to persuade her? I think I'm old enough and responsible enough to make my own decisions.

tell your mother that you want to be alone with him, promise you wouldn't do anything she fears you would be doing, and point out you won't get pregnant because nothing will happen (I'm thinking that's her problem, and it's pretty normal reaction for a mother)
but you probably gave her some kind of reason not to fully trust you - so first, sort out that with her (example, you maybe lied for something stupid, less important, and because of that she now don't trust you with this); or someone in your surroundings got earlier pregnant than it's normal. mothers I know were afraid of that the most, when we were in your age.
but maybe, your mother is just one of those people who can't realize that there time has passed and have to be involved in everything. if that's the situation, you won't get any time alone with your boyfriend, not now not in the future, no matter what you do or say.

You're an adult. You can do what you want. She should respect your decisions and you don't really have to persuade her. She's just going to have to deal with it. I'm sure you know what's best for you, and she should realize that.

Let her know that you are a responsible adult, and that u know how to handle "certain situations" when they come up. It's up to you what you do..
