The hen's diet makes the difference. There are eggs that are all kinds of pastels between white and brown.

The color of the eggs depends on the color of chicken they came from. Brown hens produce brown eggs and white hens produce white eggs. That is the only difference I have ever heard.

the color of the egg depends on the color of the chickens ears. not the whole chicken. the ears on a chicken are small holes on the side of there head. there not extremely noticeable unless you are looking for them. they are similar in nutrient content and sizes. the feed of the chicken only effects the taste of the egg not the color.
