Well, you are at a computer screen at the moment, and that will be stimulating your brain. You need at least two hours away from your computer before you go to bed. A long hot bath will help you relax, and milk or chocolate is a good drink if you need to drink something.

The same happened to me a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't just one night. I was awake for too many hours... I wanted to do something, like chatting... but my computer is not in my room and I couldn't you use it because I could make too much noise. Well what I did was listening some music... of course it won't work if you don't have an MP3 or a discman or walkman either... and don't listen music very loudly...
If you find my writting awfull that's because I'm learning english...
Another thing, tomorrow remember not to drink coffee... and, I read it before... if you can't sleep with my advice... well read a book... a very boring book. Yeah, that would deffinitely work.

Try this. Lie on your back`. Look up at the ceiling and then either out of the corner of your right eye or, left eye - doesn't matter which. You will find it very difficult to keep your eyes open and will drift off quickly. I heard it from a doctor on a recent tv programme - it works!. Or, drop a couple of drops of lavender oil on your pillow - very relaxing as is having a hot bath before you go to bed. Now get yourself off to bed!

Drink your last cup of coffee/tea before 12pm, don't eat any sugary foods after 6pm, have your last soft drink 2 hours before you go to bed....warm milk works wonders! Try to go to bed at the same time every night...the body and brain likes routine. Warm bath before bedtime with lavender bubble bath. No alcohol before bed!!! If your mind is racing full of ideas and worries when your laying in bed, offload them by writing them ALL down. Valerian tablets work well too. And last but not least, go for a long jog late afternoon to genitally force your body to wind down for the evening.
