No... "shellfish" is a TYPE of "seafood". Shellfish means those sea creatures that have shells such as shrimp, lobster, crab, scallops, clams, etc.

No, it isnt the same. Shellfish is literally seafood that has a shell. Such as lobster, crab, oysters, clams, shrimp, etc. Seafood is anything that comes from the sea. Like trout, tuna, swordfish, tilapia etc.
Seafood is a more general category and shellfish is a more specific type of seafood.
Like- Metal, punk and rock are both types of music but metal is not punk.

"Seafood" refers to any kind of animal-derived food that comes from the water; fish, lobsters, oysters, etc. are all seafood.
"Shellfish" refers to a specific type of seafood, basically anything that comes from a shell (crustaceans). So trout are not shellfish, and crabs are.

It is seafood, but seafood from shelled fish. Fish that do not have outer shells are not considered shell fish.
In other words, you can be called seafood if you have a shell, but you can't be called shellfish without a shell, even though you are seafood.
Not that "you" are seafood--heh eh heh.
