I kno people say that once you burn somethin on a cd-r, like a program or pics or somethin that you can't erase it, but someone else told me that you can, can you?

The answers are only half right. You can in fact delete files from a CD-R that is not finalized, however the space used by the deleted files is not freed up, it is gone forever. When you delete a file from a CD-R all you are really doing is hiding the file so no one can ever see it or use it. The capacity of the disc gets smaller each time you delete something.

Yes, once you burn programs, pictures, etc. on a CD-R you cannot erase that information. However, if you purchase CD-RW's, you can overwrite information on those because they are Re-Writable.

cd-r are read only type of CD. That means they can only be written once. If you would like to write over a CD buy the CD-RW. Good Luck.

cd-r you can not erase! tried it and you can't! cd-rw you can
cd-r stands for cd recordable and cd-rd means cd rewritable!
