etc is generally not used for schizophrenia. medications usually work best. etc is usually a very last resort, if all else fails. a psychiatrist is usually the person that suggest this for a treatment option. i have seen it work very well for a lot of people with anxiety, when they do not respond to medication, or psychotherapy . short term memory loss is the most common complaint, but usually goes away.

Check any local hospital that has an inpatient psychiatric program. I just had 7 treatments for severe depression and it worked for me. I don't know if they work schizophrenia. Good luck!

ECT is generally a treatment for seriously depressed people who are unresponsive to therapy and antidepressants. Your best bet is to see a psychiatrist who can prescribe you medication.
