If you don't believe, then being listed in the registry doesn't matter. You don't believe, you're not Catholic. It's ALL about FAITH. If you don't have that, it doesn't matter if you're listed or not.

Ga,
I really would not be too concerned with it anyway. Father K and I are going to disagree on this question and that does not happen very often. The Catholic Church probably does not consider you a member because you are not sending them money or attending their services. I am certain that GOD will not consider you a Christian because you do not believe and have not been Baptized in the manner that is described in the New Testament Scriptures. You should not even think twice about it in my opinion. Have a great evening and a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds
EDIT:
Blondie believes that you are going to be a Christian and can never be taken from the Book of Life but that is not what examples say in the New Testament Scriptures. Ananias and Saphira were removed. Paul gives us several other passages to read if you would like to study this. I would be glad to point you in the right direction.
Sorry,
Eds, Non-Denominational Christian

1) There are no "Christians from Birth" - - Christians are made at Baptism.
2) You are correct - - you were made one when you were baptized ("Christened" is the same thing)
3) You can write to the parish and have your name take off the rolls.
4) But you are still a Christian. God marked you. You might be a very bad Christian. Or, a non-believing Christian. But you are ontologically different - - and you are still a Christian in God's eye. Made new and reborn in the waters of Holy Baptism. That Sacrament conveys indelible Sacramental Character.
Sorry, my brother - you're stuck with us.
And I still love you.

Since you were baptized at birth and never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I really don't know if you've ever been saved. If you were saved, then you can't loose your salvation. Sorry honey, you're one of us. If you want to leave the Catholic church, why can't you just leave, why do you need to be excommunicated?

If you are really an atheist, why do you care what the Church says?
