minority scholarship question?

How much of a minority do you exactly have to be to claim it on scholarship information? My grandfather lived on an Native American Reservation for most of his life, but i am only about 25 percent indian/

It depends. If you are enrolled in your tribe then blood quantum does not matter. Some scholarships just require you to prove descendency and then usually blood quantum doesn't matter (although they may have a cut off). Most blood quantum cut offs are 1/4 or lower so your safe either way.

Some, but very few, scholarships allow you to self identify.
And there are several of scholarships for students of color in general which you would qualify for.

There are tribal scholarships. There are also scholarships by specific school.

See if your family is on the Native American Registry, if so you will qualify for various types of financial aid. Check out www.fdncenter.org for scholarships for individuals.

make sure you pass on what you are able to find and where to others... so they can help with their schooling as well.
