they just want to help. if you do what they tell you then your teeth will be healthy and they wont yell at you. dentists rnt bad, only it is annoying having to keep your mouth open for so long

I can actually relate for at one time I felt the same way. Believe me, times have changed and so has medicine. I just had two root canals, a cap put on and two cavities replaced and I honestly will tell you I had No Pain,I wasn't uncomfortable, my dentist would stop and give me a break when I held up my hand (having my mouth open got sore) and he explained everything he was going to do before he did it. He even numbed my gums and teeth with a liquid before he used a needle to numb it more. I never felt it.
Please talk to your dentist, or even better, call tomorrow morning and tell the receptionist what you have written here and see if you can talk to a technician on the phone. Make sure this dentist is to your liking, make sure they understand you are scared and if you don't feel they are understanding and compassionate about that, go to another dentist. Remember, 50 % of all dentist graduated at the bottom of their class.
Good luck and I hope I have helped♥♥

Hi I understand how you feel , but with dentists these days they are very good you hardly feel a thing when it comes to needles i am the biggest wimp but i had my teeth done last year and i didnt feel anything it maybe a little uncomfortable but when its all over you will be gratefull,, it is better to have your teeth fixed then you can look after them in the future it will be a lot better than suffering a tooth ache the pain is far worse than having a little pain at the dentist, also there is nothing worse than looking at someone who has bad teeth, just think about all nice things while you are getting your teeth fixed get someone to go with you just keep thinking you will be happy when its all finished , i wish you all the best

Be put to sleep, its called conscious sedation. I had a lot of dental work done this way a few years ago and it was awesome! I didn't remember anything other than sitting in the dental chair and them starting an IV. After that, I remembered waking up at home hours later. If you have the option to be put out, take it! It's well worth it. You won't feel or remember a thing! It's like you sleep through the entire thing.
I am terrified of the dentist. I really feel for you. If you can't be put out, at least ask your doctor or dentist for some medicine to help you deal with the anxiety of it. My old doctor gave me valium to take the night before the dentist and during the dental work. The conscious sedation can get very spendy at around $200 (it's worth it!). If you can't afford it, at least get a few pills to get you through it. A few valium will cost under $10.

okay, first you just need to calm down. They don't bite. :) The purpose of the dentist is to help your teeth feel better, and look better. If you go to sleep then you won't feel a thing, and they'll be abl;e to do their job too. I used to be afraid of the dentist, but now since I keep my teeth clean I don't really have to. If you are afraid of them pulling out your teeth , and it hurting you then just get the gas to fall asleep. you'll be fine. Just breathe, relax, and enjoy the visit.

oh yes. she is a ***** and a sadist to boot. i think they are all lesbians in that office. no men just women who sneer at me and make odd little signs with their fingers and whisper to each other. the dentis always wears a mask and i don't think it is even the same woman every time. i guess i will have to change dentists.
