Same sex aggression is common in many breeds.
Any breed that is a dominant type or assertive type breed is not going to do well with two of the same sex in the same house.
Our rescue will not put two dobes of the same sex in the same home as they end up fighting and one comes back to rescue.

I have and 8 y.o. and a 11 month old and they are both males and they get along great! I think the problem your having is your not showing the two that your "alpha" and they adhere to you period. Once in awhile my two will go beyond fun play and that is when I end the game. I get the toy and they are both sent to their bed. Within and hour they both come to me and are behaved and ready to play again.
