You have to take it from different points of views at different times.
1) if you are getting along with a girl for awhile and ask her for her number she is probaly happy and wants you to call.
2) if you just see her, don't hang out, and just ask her, it will probaly be fake.
sometimes girls give you a phone number because they are just a lot nicer then guys and don't want to have conflict in the here and now. so to give you a phone number be it real or fake is plain easier. every girl will tell you a story about a guy who wouldn't leave her alone and kept bugging her.
as for the latter.
Don't give girls gifts unless you really like them and know them. also match the intensity of the gift to how your relationship is.
love of life - you can get an expensive gift and put a lot of thought into it.
girl you just met and had a couple of fun dates. giver her something more playful and not expensive. (expensive implies things are too serious or going way to fast, and if shes not ready you just blew it)

Hey a gift is a great thing and if it comes from NE1 that might like as a friend or otherwise it's OK but if some guywho's never even glanced in my direction suddenly pops up w/ a gift in his hand 4 me? yeah im dusting 4 fingerprints & testing to see if he like u know licked the chocolate or put a camera in the teddy bear! And im not just u know gonna throw out my # so it probably for me would mean that i um wanted him 2 call me? However if ur not really aquainted w/ the girl who gave it 2 u? well just stay on ur toes and make sure ur not being 3 wayed!

Well, when you give a girl gives a guy their phone number, they are telling you in our language that they trust you with their number, they trust you, and they really like you. And if they give you their number please, I beg you, girls beg you, SOCIETY BEGS YOU, DO NOT CALL THEM THE FIRST NIGHT YOU GET IT! Wait till the second night and then give them a ring ( i mean on the phone not a real ring incase you got any ideas there) . And when you talk to her open out by saying, Hey, its me, ____(your name) and then start talking smoothly. Don't talk about anything gross or anything becaus egirls HATE THAT. And when they say they have to go, say goodbye and hang up. By the 5th phone call, (them calling you) you should say love ya, bye before you hang up. When a guy presents you with a gift it basically means that they like you and the girls get really happy. Well, unless it is a realy crappy gift or something that would not be of interest to them. The best thing to get them is something romantic! I am sorry this was a little long, but I always get crazy with theese types of questions! lol I hope this helps!

When a girl gives you their number, it obviously means that they really like you or interested in getting to know you better. Also, its a signal for them to tell you to call them.
As for the guy presenting a gift for a girl, I think that would mean that the guy likes the girl.

When girls give you their phone number, it means they would like to get to know you better. Call her. And when you give a gift to a girl, if it's from a friend, who you know if just a friend, it's spontaneous and sweet. It might get her interested in you. But, don't be scared. It'll win you brownie points with everyone else. If you give a gift to a girl that you're interested in, it could very likely start something. Best of luck!

If I give a guy my number, that means that I find him to be most likely physically attractive or I just felt that 'click' with them. I wouldn't give I a guy my number if I thought he was gross, clingly, weird, annoying, stalker-ish, or anything else like that - I wouldn't want to deal with having someone like that call my phone all the time so I just wouldn't.
If a guy presents me with a gift then it's very much appreciated. If I like the guy as a friend or a colleague, I would think, "Wow, that's so nice to think that someone thought of me." And like them even more as a friend.
If I were interested on a non-platonic level then...it would be very sweet still.

When a girl gives a guy her number that usually means that she's interested in him.Us girls gain the confidence that someone might be sharing the same intrest.We love the fact that at least someone knows we like them.

It's simple. If a girl gives you her number, she expects you to call at least within three days. There's nothing else for her to gain from it other than you noting in your mind that she's interested and hoping you'll take some kind of action.
It's not like guys when they ask for a girl's number they are sometimes only doing it because they can and just to see if she'll give it to them.

If I give my number to a guy I expect him to ring me because I would like to see him again - if I wasn't fussed I would ask for his number.
Depending on what the gift was I would accept it but it also depends on how far into the relationship we were.

*gain??? Satisfy my curiosity..Perhaps gain a friend... Or even more if he seems sensible enough.
*Like most people, I love gifts. Its the thrill of opening it to find what exactly he links you to.It just excites me (interprete as you may) .Its flattering he took the time to get me sth. BUT, if its given to me by a guy thats hitting on me and that I really dont like, then i just dont like it at all.Id rather not take it. It makes me feel sick.
This is just me...but again, some may share the same values.
