Why did I wake up with a bruise?

The bruise was not there the night before and I was never hit there. What could of caused this. I'm 24 years old and I am not on any medication.

you probably had a bad dream and bumped whatever part of your body the bruise is on against the wall or headboard or something. maybe you had a dream that you don't remember.

you may have done it tossing and turning in your sleep and did not feel it.
