Absolutely.
A Doberman from a breeder who is more temperment than blue ribbon focused will produce a wonderful dog for you. If you are concerned about aggression, FYI -- I've had 5 and not one has shown any sign of aggression towards me or people I invite into my home. They have all been very sweet and loving dogs. And contrary to what serena_morris70 said, they can be wonderful lap dogs. Heck, mine take up more couch space than I do! *laughing*
BUT -- a Doberman is not for everyone. They are often refered to as "The Velcro Dog" because they are extremely needy and clingy. They HATE to be left alone and as a result can often be destructive. Key to this is giving your Dobe LOTS of attention and exercise when you are home with them.
They are a very bright breed, but can be difficult for the layman to train - but training is essential for a Doberman. They need a job and love to be told "Good Dog!!" -- so early training from their guardian -- in a manner that speaks to authority NOT abuse is VERY important! If you don't have the time to commit, get another type of dog.
Hope that helps! :)

I think it depends on how you are going to train her, I think any dog has great potential but dogs need training I work at a local human society right now we have a doberman Rottweiler mix most people think the two breeds are aggressive animals this dog is very large, beautiful, smart, and one of the sweetest dogs I have ever seen he just wants his belly rubbed all the time so I think that if you train the dog , treat him good and spent time with him I really think the dog will be everything you want him to be...

Dobes are wonderful dog but not for every home.
The owner has to have time to train with the dog and be firm enough to establish his or her dominance over the dobe. If not the dog rules the house and you pay the bills.
Dobes require large amounts of exercise and they play hard and rough. They need to run and chase. They need firm consistant disipline to form a very tight commited boond with the owner. The owner has to prove to the dog he is in charge and then after that once the dog trusts you the dog would walk through fire if you asked.
I have owned dobes for 18 years and work with a doberman rescue.

Depends on the termperment of the specific dog. This question is like asking the doberman if a red headed Irish woman would be a good owner. I mean, it really depends on the situation...what kind of environment the dog will be living in, indoors/outdoor, large/small yard, single owner/family, family pet/watchdog...it all depends on what you are looking for.

depends on what you want. If you want a mean a** watchdog yes, if you want a cuddly little lap dog, then no.
