what detailed internet settings do i need to run flashplayer?

i recently asked adobe for help, nothing, microsoft(i got vista), nothing, then HP for help but they wont help on "third party" stuff... but they did suggest booting up on safe mode with networking... flash player works in safemode, but when i go back to normal, nothing... so its obviously my settings...

i got windows VISTA!!! not XP!!! its new laptop that came with vista...

Try this fix:
1. Right-click on the installation executable you downloaded from Adobe

2. Select Properties.

3. Click the Compatibility tab.

4. Under Compatibility Mode, check the Run this in compatibility mode for checkbox and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the dropdown.

5. Click OK.

6. Run the installation executable.
